Have any Canadian women had their tubes tied here?

My experience is, unfortunately, it's not much easier here than in the States.

When I was in my 20s (almost 40 now), my doctor told me he wouldn't even talk about it unless I had kids or turned 30. I never did get it, my husband ended up getting a vasectomy after a single consult (I'm still salty about that, NGL).

I even had a doctor refuse to give me a prescription for the pill at one time. He wanted me to come in once a month and he'd give me a sample pack because doctors are paid per appointment. (I went to a walk-in after and told that doctor what happened, she called the other guy up and ripped a strip off, it was glorious!)

The only friend I know for sure whose had surgery had it after her second child and she still had to push for it.

Best advice, if your doctor doesn't listen to you, you have the right to find one that will.

Hopefully things have improved in the last 20 years, good luck!
