Oh I know. My children went. Not for long though!
The owners had screwed over one of our friends before it started. We thought it was miscommunication, or that our friend was being a bit dramatic, but over time we just let it slide as a grey area because it wasn’t our issue.
The second, another friend who has a big reputation in the area was also feeling screwed over after school started. W/O the details, she put them on blast on Facebook and it created quite the noise.
Again, my wife personally contacted her and validated her feelings but suggested there be a better way to go about it. This actually got her to calm down and delete the post. She made another still feeling that she was wronged but there is no need to be crazy about it and was ready to move on.
But, within this long thread my wife made a comment to someone, again with the intent of defending the school, that if they continue to lack in integrity, they will fall. She didn’t mean it as though she saw them lacking integrity, but something was definitly weird and IF IT WAS the case, then yes, it would probably fall by self destruction.
They emailed her about this comment and were very cold and summoned her to a zoom meeting to which I did not attend so I could watch the children.
I probably should’ve been there, but Jay, one of the teachers and there counselor basically guilt tripped and bullied my wife in to being submissive.
Jay gave us the option to leave, albeit through quite a bit of expressive anger, but she just shut down and started crying and feeling bad.
The end of the zoom meeting was alright and they were proud of her for being humble or whatever.
She was very confused after, but by the end of the night when the shell shock wore off, we were like something is definitly not right here.
So we put our notice in, but they wanted to keep us to our contractual agreement of paying 25% of the rest of the years tuition even if we back out.
Our children were only there for 1 1/2 weeks and having already payed the month with all the sign up fees... oh I forgot to mention, one of their teachers announced that there was a scabies case from one of the students, but then they retracted that statement and referred to their policy not being able to diagnose or confirm illness... if you know anything about scabies, don’t eff with it EVER.
So we felt more than justified in leaving.
In short they were just cold and legal.
They gave my wife a cease and desist.
Since they wouldn’t let it go my wife hired an attorney and when the attorney asked for their attorneys info they never responded.
Turns out our friend were right...
This was in September of last year.
A few weeks later, a friend of our first friend who was effed over, actually had his little family living on the property helping out with running the school. Shit hit the fan and the owners were being passive aggressive and actively aggressive and these people had to leave ASAP.
I just heard 2 days ago that multiple familiars have come together for a class act lawsuit against them.
I can’t confirm this fully, but it would make sense because people need to come together so they don’t get strong armed and bullied into submission, having to pay these people money when they are unknowingly treated others in contradicting manners to the beliefs and freedoms they stand by.
It’s so sad, it was a beautiful school for our children, and although we had a similar vision of freedom, we didn’t have the same heart.
When connecting to a community it’s all about the feeling, it’s in the heart.
We were hurt by this, but we have moved on.
