Has anyone else become so critical of their beats that they can't even tell if somethings good anymore?

Music is probably the most selfish endeavor I partake in, it's entirely for my own sake. In business and art alike, I find it very important to trust my own tastes and hope that others feel the same way as I do whether it be a garment or a song.

It's just a matter of self-confidence imo. Oftentimes I test this confidence by watching the progression of trends I take part in as a consumer rather than a producer. If I have a good 'batting average' being ahead of the curve as a consumer I feel relatively confident in my productions. Taste informs consumption and production alike.

And by 'confidence' I don't mean having an expectation of any particular outcome, moreso the confidence to throw caution to the wind and release things. I mean having the confidence to be steadfast in my decisions and not to waver according to the passing fancies of other people. Hope this helps.
