Why are some Christian against gay marriage when same sex marriage can be done in the Christian church?

Sorry but this is just not true. It was made clear that Jesus came to fulfill the law, not abolish it.

Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them”

Therefore, there are aspects of the old covenant are still relevant unless they were blatantly overturned by Jesus. For example, we know the shellfish rule doesn’t apply anymore when Jesus stated the following:

Mark 7:15 “It’s not what goes into your body that defiles you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart.”

We have no indication that rules regarding homosexuality were overturned. And yes, Jesus instructed us to love everyone, but loving someone does not include condoning their sin.
