Are there very conservative areas in Canada?

One poster said rural Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan and parts of rural B.C. and I would agree. I’m from one of the Atlantic Canadian provinces and some people who’ve clearly never been here like to stereotype us as rural or southern sometimes. We have picturesque seaside towns, with paved roads, shops and grocery stores open every day of the week, you have neighbours on either side of you, no farms and since people love the views you’ll find some really nice homes in these areas etc. Do to historical oppression of Catholics by protestants people hate religion, politics are liberal.

Western Canada has a completely different type of rural than we do out here. Very southern looking, farms, dirt roads through the centre of town or Hamlets; whatever they like to call them. In some places, shops close on Sunday, drive a mile before you see the next house type of rural. Religion and conservative politics are far more prominent there then anywhere else. Minus Ontario, Alt right politics has also found a following in those western provinces.

In Canada the east tends to be liberal, the west more conservative.
