I was in Florida on vacation with my girlfriend in April of '99, I think it was. We were sitting outside at the pool when it suddenly started raining. Everyone got up to leave except my girlfriend and I, and two other dudes that were on the other side of the pool. We just sat across the pool from each other, with puzzled looks on our faces.

Then one of the guys from across the pools yelled over to us, "Hey, what part of Canada are you from?" We told him where, and asked how he knew? He just said, "only another Canadian would stay out here in this shit, hoping it'll just go away!"

We ended talking for a bit, found out that he and the other dude owned a bar near where we lived, and they invited us to come by some time. Then the lightning started, so we figured we should probably go inside. It rained for the next day and a half.
