attempted assassination of imran khan

Part of the reason I posted it here is because I was hoping to see what other people had to say.

All I can tell you is that a few months back, he was ousted in a soft coup that was rumored to have US support. He claims this happened shortly after he'd made some moves to increase Pakistani trade with Russia and China and that it is somehow linked to how he was handling the Pakistani debt crisis with IMF funds. Also a pro-Moscow, anti-Ukraine stance brings Pakistan more in line with India which has implications for both the Kashmir crisis and Pakistan's standing as a NATO ally. He has a reputation for being wishy washy and dramatic, I don't know if that's deserved or not. Also ISI is its own thing also, very frequently acts in opposition to the official government. While it cooperates with the CIA to do all sorts of stuff historically, it is incorrect to view them as puppets of the CIA. They have their own agenda and frequently go rogue, shifting alliances shrewdly to carry out whatever goals they have. So that's a lot of moving parts and I don't know enough about it to have a theory of what's happened or who is behind it.

But then instead of just going away, he's been talking a lot of smack about the government, the police and the miliitary and he supposedly has a pretty strong base that supports him. He's been going around having rallies and calling for new elections. He's been accusing them of arresting and torturing his political allies. A few months ago, the police announced they were going to arrest him on terrorism charges. Then a couple weeks ago, they walked all this back saying, ok terrorism is too much, but we're issuing a warrant for sedition but hey don't worry we aren't going to arrest you or anything. They held elections shortly after that and his party won a bunch of seats.

So the reason it might be of interest to people here in this sub of course is due to the narrative that his ousting (and assassination attempt) is supported by the US and/or CIA due to his recent movement to align Pakistan with Russia. But I have no idea if that's true, not enough knowledge to even make a judgement. Hence posting here, curious what others say.
