Both editions of Night Trap is sold out. The total time available was under three minutes.

I agree with you. Someone else here or on facebook pointed out that LRG do what they do because people cancel their orders when they find out that the game won't be as valuable. They made a very conscious choice to help people who are flipping the games even before they are released more than the people who seemingly want the game. I have the 8bix Xmas carts and they do go up in value after a while. I like the 8bit Xmas games because they're very unique. When I sell off my games, pretty much all of the Homebrew and ROM hack carts are the ones I'm keeping, beyond my favorites.

The whole thing about LGR is that I highly doubt that someone cancelling their order after a few days causes them any issues. Most times it takes around 2 weeks to get everything in order before production can start. If they stated on their site that all orders will be taken for 24 hours, that would curb a lot of the issues with people cancelling their orders. It's not like they wouldn't sell the games eventually or have issues with storing the games for a limited time because there will be an influx of people who missed the first run or have just been made aware of the game. They go to the PRGE every year and I see a split between people on how they feel about LGR's practices. One way they can gain trust with the gaming community is to change who they favor. Favoring gamers over short term scalpers will win them more customers. The people who are paying $100+ a game on ebay are the same people who wish to buy the game anyway. The difference between the people who are listing them on ebay and the people who are buying them on ebay is nothing more than the middleman that is making a nice profit off of the games. The market is there, they chose to not favor the end user in my opinion. I will never know for sure that the people who are buying the games on ebay are the ones that really want the game or are investors taking assuming they're taking a large hit for a profit later on.

A lot of what's going on reeks of comic books and trading cards. A lot of people will say it's completely different but I was there and it's the things I seen while I was there. I think there will eventually be a lot of people like me dumping off games just because we no longer identify as being a collector and don't really care for the things going on. At this point I have traded over 1000 games to acquire things for other interests I have. I have far too many games still. I started buying games to make sure there will always be a working copy out there but I made sure to only grab games I thought was interesting. There is a ton of people who were doing the same thing as I was that have a far more complete collections and larger pockets as I do.
