Look both ways before crossing Penn, even on the one way section.

cyclists are to be treated the same way as cars

Then why are they allowed, or would anyone expect, them to be going the "wrong" way down a one-way street? This is a novel use, not intuitively grasped nor clearly marked. One should expect continued confusion by pedestrians (i.e., non-bikelane-users) until this type of infrastructure is ubiquitous throughout the city.

you are doing everything you can to blame OP

Technically, OP probably did nothing wrong. The pedestrian that he hit was likely careless. What I take exception to is that anything about this is even posted here. Some yinzer jaywalker is not going to read this little rant and if she was a redditor, she might be privy to the intricate workings of our new cycling infrastructure and all of the whining that has gone on here about it. Save it for craigslist rants & raves!

Have some compassion for the woman...that street has been one way fo a gazillion years and no one who is not a cyclist would expect a speeding bicycle to whack them from the left there.

If this had happened in a car...if a car tapped a careless pedestrian...for one, I would employ my acerbic wit against them in measure to whether it was a Mercedes or Trans Am (all I need to know here is "bike" for the humor to ensue) and for two, people would most certainly blamed the pedestrian, but also ask: were you on your phone? Were you driving under the speed limit? Were you high/drunk? Etc. And if the street had recently changed traffic patterns we would have had a modicum of understanding for the lady. This simply reads:

I AM AN AWESOME CYCLIST AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO STOP OR SLOW DOWN FOR ANYTHING OR ANYONE SO PAY ATTENTION BITCHES!!! WAH WAH WAH.
