Actually, I'm an 8th year corporate lawyer and NYC private school brat. We have close family friends that are very close with the Trumps - and the Bushes, and the Obamas, and the Clintons. That is what happens when you go to a school with 100 kids a grade and there are 4 billionaire scions in your class. We have friends that spend weekends at Mar-a-Lago and live on Trump properties (where the Ttumps themselves have houses and spend time), I have tons of friends from Chapin and Buckley (where Ivanka and Donald Jr. went, and which are both well under a hundred kids a class), I have friends who rode horses with the Manaforts and friends who routinely hang out with the Kushners - and you actually used to run into these folks going to parties and events in NYC, like the ballet and the theater or go to high end restaurants. Eric is my age - so we all grew up in this absurd little NYC private-school scene together.

The positive stories you are hearing about the Trumps are from bootlicks and not their peers. I grew up in their world and their reputation was absurdly bad.
