Capt. Sullenberger: Vote against Republican control

Completely abstract from his political views(which I agree with) I think Sully is a terrible person. Before I started flying, I actually viewed him as a hero. He did an amazing job-and his first officer did too-in a very insane situation. He says a lot of really smart things, but he has massively harmed the aviation industry with his tone deaf interviews before congress and the way he inserts himself into policy making. He was a major proponent of the 1500 hour ATP rule, which has been proven to have little bearing on safety of pilots in the cockpit, and has harmed pilots entering the industry more than anything. He did something amazing, and now just uses his massive ego to influence policy. Some of it, like this interview, is worthwhile, but a lot of it in the aviation industry is horribly self-important. His autobiography is incredibly self righteous.

Any pilot worth his salt knows Sully is a very accomplished pilot who needs to keep his mouth shut and learn some humility,
