Creating a 30-60-90 plan for entry level position

This sounds familiar. There were some really good responses if you do a quick search.

Make a powerpoint presentation. It goes without saying to make it look as professional as possible. I would pull it up with the manager in person and then email the slideshow to the others.

I posted the template I use for my action plan. Let me find it and I will share. EDIT: here it is https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7F8lvG2dUw4TklxaTZmbmM1UFU

You want to come in prepared with things like a prospecting plan (who you will target and how you will set appointments). Dive in to the numbers. Most sales jobs require a 3x - 5x pipeline. Meaning you need at least 3-5 times the value of your monthly quota in deal opportunities in your pipeline. So if your quota each month is $10,000, you need to have at least 30k in deals in your pipeline at any give time. Talk about that.

I would also suggest diving in to the daily metrics - how many doors are you going to swing to get an appointment? Whats your daily goal with appointments? Say the avg. close rate is 20%, you need 5 appointments to close 1 deal - break that down.

They might also want to hear about your plan to learn and master the product. At the end, summarize where you see yourself landing from a % of quota perspective. Basically, if I achieve this plan, I should end up at 125% of my quota over this 3 month period.

Good luck!

Here's some helpful tips from a site I use; its specific to medical device sales but the general outline is transferable: https://www.medreps.com/medical-sales-careers/how-to-create-an-impressive-30-60-90-day-plan-for-interviews/

I've viewed over 100 30/60/90 plans for interviews(assuming your going for a sales role) and the key is logic and common sense.

The biggest mistakes I see people make is that they are actually to general and vague.

Put attainable goals and an actual 3 month plan together that is sound and will provide a framework in which to succeed.

Set Goals for Each Period - ie. @ 30 days I want to have "X" amount in my Funnel and look to convert that into Revenue.

  • How you'll get there -Break down each day and also the weeks.

  • Be specific about your day/week, what percentage of time you'll spend prospecting and what/how many calls/dials a day/week.

  • Build Weekly touch points with your manager into the plan

  • Speak with a couple of their best reps today and see what the day is like and what's realistic. Those that did this usually had the most sound plans and stood out as good candidates.

Let me know if you have any questions.
