Women are people and wanted to be treated as such. They can tell when someone just finds them attractive and only wants to sleep with them. Most women want a man to like her, the whole package, get to know them and like them for more than looks or sex.

I would suggest not asking people out right away. Ask questions to get to know them and if you like them after getting to know them- ask them out. If you join a group or hobby just enjoy the group or hobby while getting to know everyone, if you make a connection then move forward asking them out. It's not a "get in line", it's a valuing people for what they can bring to your life not just sexually.
