Dutch Election Megathread

That's a bit much don't you think? You could describe PVV voters as xenophobic, I'll give you that, but xenophobia is a pretty human reaction when it concerns people that are very different from Western people. I'm not saying they are right, I'm saying it is understandable and human. Couple that with people who are afraid because they are losing their jobs to Bangladesh and automation, people who feel they aren't heard in regular politics. Hell, PVV gets a lot of votes from Limburg and there are barely any immigrants living there. Describing all these people as racist is as much a generalisation as Wilders' painting all muslims as potentially violent and dangerous.

I know a couple of PVV voters. Some of them are xenophobic and maybe one is racist. Most of them are just tired of regular politicians talking and think Wilders is the only one that says 'real things'. I'm not saying they are correct in voting PVV and I think it won't help them one bit, but by listening to them and not immediately calling them racist you can understand why people vote Wilders and it is definitely not all blind hatred.
