ENTPs and Religion

24 F here - I was raised Christian as well and believed in God growing up, but currently, I'm in a weird place. I really do want it to be true but I'm not seeing anything substantive for it to be. From what I've researched, most scholars agree that Jesus existed, but whether or not he is Christ is up for interpretation. I have a problem taking the Bible literally, being that it is a man-made compilation of stories, rewritten and translated over many years.

I'm wondering if a lot of us subscribe to religion for the comfort factor. Through prayer and worship, we feel comforted that a higher power is watching over us. I can't help but think this could all be psychological. Like the concept of self-fulfilling prophecy. For example, by believing in religion you become a more positive person, and thus you experience life more positively. So, you associate that positive life experience with religion. Just a thought.
