First COVID-19 death in the U.S. happens in Washington state

but this is as infectious as the normal flu but has a 2-4 times higher mortality rate

Initial estimates had this having an infection rate orders of magnitude higher than the flu - however, the actual figures have not played out that way - not even close.

In the same time COVID19 has infected 90,000 people - the flu has infected 10-15 million. In other words, COVID19 has infected 0.006% the # of people that flu has in the same period of time - DESPITE having started in the most populous nation in the world.

Additionally, the mortality rate outside of Wuhan is dropping. It's now currently .7%, and as more tests are being done on those showing little/no symptoms that figure will continue tp drop.
