Anyone know the statistics for how long distance college relationships last? I’ve (22M) been talking to this girl I met in California, and it only was a casual hook ups for both of us at first, she(21F) starts to grow feelings very quickly. When she went back to school in Washington a few weeks ago, she told me she loved me, and I told her I cared about her, and possibly would want to start a relationship with her, but not when she’s over a thousand miles away. I also like taking things somewhat slow in terms of saying words that powerful to someone at our age. I didn’t want feelings to escalate that quickly, and I think It’s unhealthy to say you care that immensely for someone so early on in a non-two sided relationship. Anyways she is really understanding and apologizes and says she’s happy just to be talking to me. Assuring me that she still wants to not talk to any guys up there, and just focus on her school and wait until I visit her or she visits me. She gives me some space for about a week just not talking as often but still talking, we start talking more often again, I kind of slowly start to gain a little more feelings. So then she confesses to me that she slept with one guy, and had a bad experience with another guy who was trying to sleep with her (but apparently he just groped her outside a party until he realized she wasn’t into it? Like she said she was afraid to tell him no. Which I guess I can understand for someone with high anxiety) anyways she feels super bad. She says she was just really frustrated in the moment that week. Anyways this has all been the span of under 3 months. Are these red flags? I mean I honestly felt like I didn’t have a right to be upset since I didn’t validate the relationship. I told her before she left that I didn’t want to be in a long distance serious relationship while at this age, and she convinced me soooo hard that she wasn’t going to be partying or hanging out with many people, only focused on school, and she didn’t want any other guys. Then not even a month in after one disagreement, she goes and sees other guys. Can anyone give me advice on if I’m wasting my time with this girl? She’s intelligent, beautiful, but I seem like she’s almost... fake? Any advice would be appreciated.
