I graduated high school in 2018 (in America btw), and my History teacher decided that "American History" meant "weekly America-bashing session".

For example, the state mandated that we spend one week talking about WWII. This Professor spent half of Monday half-assedly explaining Pearl Harbor, and then the rest of the week was just her ranting about Japanese Internment and the Nuclear Bomb. Don't get me wrong, it's important to learn about America's mistakes, but not to the point where the usual American History curriculum is ignored. IDK if that History Professor still works for my HS, but holy crap I wouldn't be surprised if her curriculum was written in collaboration with the Ayatollah.
