Why is this club banned and why shouldn't a bill stopping the ban be passed?

So this is really just a push against the Catholic school system? Force them to have GSA clubs. You think that will create more understanding of the LGBT community within the Catholic system? This will create more distance. Instead of the Catholic system, accepting all types of people, which they do. All are treated the same. It is illegal, and immoral to be treated not equal within the Catholic system. Those that are abused do have the opportunity to seek support, regardless of sexual orientation, etc.

What will happen is another Bill will try to be passed. The Catholic system and supporters of it will feel like their rights are being violated(Since they do have support for LGBT, but being forced to create a "Special Club" just for one specific type of person is favouritism.) A lot of anger on both side. Thoe opposed to the Bill will be called bigots, while how can they be when they already have support systems, even for gays.

Someone will create a GSA club in the Catholic system. Not to create better understanding, but just because it is a Social Justice Warrior thing to do. A few will join. It will be great for a while. But then it will wane out. Then what? All peace and love? Nope. Did this whole exercise stop bullying. Nope, because others are still neglected. You have to think about the long term implications. You have to have empathy for those on the opposite opinion, because then you can understand why they might be opposed.

But all a lot of people seem to think is that this is just about creating a safe space for gays. Which is good. What kind of evil person would be against that? Must be a bigot, right?

But you have to dive deeper into the issue. Like in House of Cards, this topic is more than it seems. There are some people that are pushing it just to get more popular.

There are better ways to help more people.
