Gaza’s only power plant shuts down over tax dispute-Disagreement between Hamas, Palestinian Authority over energy bill to result in power cuts up to 18 hours per day

I know why they support them. That is not at all the issue.

okay...

The issue is that HAMAS is bad. That is indisputabe.

Bad for who exactly? Given a choice the Palestinians seem to back them. And one might suggest that there is a very appealing motivation for the Palestinians to do so.

What do you suppose that could be?

HAMAS's primary platform is kill all jews and wipe out isreal.

Bullshit.

That is a bad thing.

Yes, if it were actually true.

Genocide is not good.

But nowhere are you claiming that Hamas or the Palestinians want to wipe out the Jewish people - even if I can accept they want Israel gone.

By definition, that is not genocide.

On top of that Palistinians generally support attacking isreal.

If my kids were killed and my home blown up I would be pretty damn interested in blowing up whoever did that to me. Are you trying to tell me you wouldn't?

That is generally bad for palistine.

Damn straight.

So tell me, if we both understand that this is bad for Palestine, do you believe the Palestinians are stupid or can you accept that they know these actions will have consequences and are willing to put up with those consequences as long as they can get what they believe is justice?

Now, here's the thing.

You and I provably agree that this stance is only going to continue the problem and probably make things worse but neither of us have had family members killed, maimed, and our homes burnt down - so that might cloud our judgment.

But they keep wanting to do it.

You honestly don't understand why? Are you serious?

How do you stop a nation of people who don't want to stop?

I don't know. Have you asked Israel the same question?

It's like a child that wants to kill all bears. So the kid keeps punching bears then whining when the bear fucks them up.

Ah but someday, that kid might learn about sharp sticks which can be launched into the bear to kill it.

One would like to think that the bear is smart enough to realize that someday the odds are that it is going to get badly hurt or even killed. In fact, the hatred that many of these people have is great enough that they will give their lives to make that happen.

Either the bear and the kids learn to live together or someday the shit is going to hit the fan.

How do you stop someone from engaging in self-destructive behavior when that person is knowingly making the decision again and again?

You find peace - something this Israeli Prime Minister is not interested in - and therein lies a part of the problem.

Also, HAMAS doing some charity work (with international aid money mostly) doesn't mean they arn't just awful awful pieces of shit.

Now that's an interesting statement.

Can we also apply that same logic to the Israeli community. Let's face it, Israel does a lot of good things (yes, I am being serious) but every once in a while they kill a thousand people or two while decimating entire neighborhoods.

Why aren't they awful pieces of shit in your mind? Hasn't Israel killed more people than the Palestinians have?

Here's my answer.

As long as both sides want war, they will have it. This will continue until one of two events occur. Either they will find a way to live together in peace or a lot of people are going to die - but it will be both sides which make that end come, not one.
