ok, gunner. there are plenty of programs that have night float and don't demand 24's. therefore, there are programs that fit my needs by default.

this thread has exposed that the baseline ACGME standards do not work for me, and it may be best to find programs that are already doing 12's, then stipulate (some number 13-17hrs) that is safe for me to work.

another poster in here is working 8's with no makeup hours. working 12's-mid-teen's is as much as anyone works in some residencies. in no way would my hours fall short, they would just need to be distributed a certain way.

anyway, I hope you're better to your patients about disability. you should understand that much "disability" is created socially.
