They can absolutely control a classroom.

My sister is a teacher. She’s recorded her class room and lessons for various reasons: grants, the state asked her to, whether... I’ve watched it.

She doesn’t ever have a problem. The “problem children” that walks over every other teacher doesn’t fuck around in her classroom either.

She keeps the classroom at a certain level to start with, and if a kid starts to escalate that, she does as well. She calls another student to continue the lesson or exercise (all her lesson plans are written out with instructions, so literally anyone could teach them at a basic level).

Then she deals with the kid. If that means calling a parent she calls them. If that means telling the parent they need to sit in the classroom and ensure the student gets their work done, she has done that. She doesn’t allow the students to talk to the parent because that isn’t the reason for the parent being in the room. It’s to ensure Timmy does his work without disrupting others.

She’s worked in low income underachieving schools, and high income high achieving schools. Taught the English Language Learners, multiple grades, and honors.

My only issue with the professions is pay and red-tape. The state would get a lot of teachers like her if they could offer legitimate pay. Also if they didn’t have red tape like having to go through some stupid government procurement in order to make a purchase. Where it’s 4X cheaper online and would arrive tomorrow if they could just buy shit and turn in the receipts.
