Help me choose a career in art?

I'm all for following your passion. I'm 26 and have many friends who went to college for the arts. A few for fine arts, a pianist, a classical major, arts history, etc. It all depends where you want to focus and develop from. For example, my art history friend went to get her masters in art history and now works as a visitor associate for a museum here ( the people you pay to enter), my fine arts friend is struggling and is working part time at an arts gallery, my classical major friend is working as a legal researcher for a law firm and struggling to move on in his career, my friend who majored as a pianist at a prestige music university was working part time but just got a full time working as an assistant. My friends who majored in theatre in college are both struggling to make it here in NYC, one is a barista at a coffee shop and the other is a host at a restaurant. Itll be tough, this is reality, but figure out what you truly want to do, figure out what you want to end up doing. I only have one friend who went to an arts school who has a career as a designer and on the side likes to make animation films.
