I guess you'll have to learn to problem solve. You identified that the stove doesn't work, the only solution isn't just to leave it there. If you're renting, in many states/countries, it's the landlord's obligation to provide a working stove. If your Dad owns the place, it's probably an easy fix on the stove, and a repair guy can do it relatively cheap (like under $100). There's all kinds of cool stuff you can look up, depending on where you live, you can build a solar oven for super cheap (there are instructions all over the internet), and you could cook outside (again, depending on where you live).
