How do you stay grounded during catastrophic times, including the Taliban, much of the world on fire, and of course, a viral pandemic worsening every day?

All times have been catastrophic for one reason or another, for some people.

As terrible as the Taliban are, they're not a real threat to me in my daily life. The world being on fire doesn't affect me particularly, though i'm sad for those that are affected. I'm handling the pandemic to the best of my ability.

Like, we're all fighting fires, there are people that have all that global stuff AND personal crises going on, and I'm fortunate to not be one of them.

I can't worry about things I can't control or i'd never get out of bed. Limiting my conscious thoughts about how fucked things potentially are is a self-defence mechanism that I particularly value.
