How do you stay happy knowing your past is gone and mortality is coming?

I just turned 33 and I get what you're saying. Like when someone dies, I think everything they did in life was pointless. Or if someone gets divorced, I think that their whole marriage was pointless. What was the point if it's just going to end?

But one way I try and look at things is that you should enjoy what you have now, even though it might/will end one day.

I kind of came to thinking like that while working on my house. While doing some renovations, I've had people say how that'll be good for whenever we sell the place. (Even though we are not on a position to move.)

We're making things nicer that way we can enjoy it while we live here. Sure, it'll add value, but that's not our reason for doing such things.

Just like in life. Enjoy your life, as it is today. Yeah, one day it'll end, but while you're here, make the most of it.
