I do this and I think it's just being polite

If I were any good I'd lock down torrents...that's really laughable.

Sure, let me just purchase that $2,000 piece of equipment for each location right now and the service contract that's $150 additional just to do that. I'll just recommend we fire 4 staff per location to cover the costs of that investment. That's pretty sound advice there buddy. And I never said bandwidth and operation bandwidth were an issue. You're bringing that up when it's not even a factor.

But let's face it, if you're upset about having to pay £3 for a coffee, you're not a great coffee shop customer. You would be better off making your own coffee at home and paying for your own internet. You're 3-4 times a week visit for 4 weeks straight equals £36-48 of your money being spent. That's enough to buy your own coffee and make it at home. You are literally, not the best customer to have. $3 sales mean absolutely nothing unless you can have a lot of volume. The average ticket is $8 at a coffee shop. So what you're coming in to buy is basically a black coffee. Diners serve black coffee. Coffee shops sell specialty coffee. If kicking you out means we can sell to someone $8 a visit, then we're going to do it. Every business is going to do that.

If Internet is that important to you, then you really should just get a connection at home. Not come in and purchase the lowest priced item on the menu because you think that's equal trade for free internet. You're a bad customer if you think that.

Businesses are not going to invest a large amount to pacify you're shitty illegal behaviors, so if you're upset about that, good. Get the fuck out. Small businesses are not made of money, they don't have these amazing budgets you are exaggerating. Just because we have a building and serve to the public doesn't mean you know a god damn thing about the entire model, the costs, the benefits or what we pay our employees. Some places have extremely high costs because of it's location as a business and traffic flow, its state laws, the cost of importing coffee. These costs have to still compete with other coffee shops by small margins of +- $0.50. And you come in thinking we can just afford and spend investments left and right to solve every issue, and then demand that coffee should be less than £3. Fuck you buddy, fuck you and never come back. No one needs YOUR business, or your attitude. Your entitlement is unquestionably disgusting, and you will not be missed as a customer.
