I'll have 3 small orders of wings please.

Reminds me of a "discussion" that I had in a bar over the pricing on their chicken wings sign. They had a special and were advertised as follows....

Chicken Wings 0.25¢ each

To be clear, this means that each Chicken Wing is priced at one quarter of one cent, so four for a penny. To point out the typo I told my server that I would like the 400 chicken wings for $1.00 special. She didn't get it. I explained to her that 25¢ without the leading decimal is twenty five cents. So too $0.25 is twenty five cents because it's one quarter of one dollar but when you place a decimal in front of the "25" and add a " ¢ " sign after the "25", it's a fundamentally different expression. Anyway, there was a lot of back-and-forth and she was getting way too mad.
