I'm a male. This doesn't affect me at the moment but what the hell? This doesn't even make monetary sense!

BC was fairly expensive when my daughter was paying for it.

I suppose it does affect more people, if you are limiting it to people with life threatening allergies compared to the entire population of child bearing age women.

But I don't think it holds true comparing older folks needing antihypertensives, stations, diabetic medications, etc.

The reason I think this is the sheer size of the boomer generation type folks. For an example, I come from a family of six siblings. I had 2 kids, one of which has 2 kids, the other one has none.

I'm thinking that probably, since we boomers are and will continue to be a burden on the system as so many of us carry on falling apart. It's probably way more cost effective to try to. affect outcomes by making it more difficult to obtain life saving maintenancee than by making it easy.

I can't explain the EPI pen thing, because severe allergy is likely to be something that affects young people. I guess somebody was just willing to throw them under the bus in the name of profits.
