I'm sure a lot of what is driving the open only crowd is the thought of an influx of newbies to destroy who are forced into the same pool as they usually play.

I do only play in open (occasionally if i need to board hop and i may end up in solo), and I'm not sure this is a good idea. I mean, I don't pvp but I'll give it a fair crack. But it could just further alienate and divide the player base.

I've never engaged in Power Play because lets face it, the system fucking sucked. I'm not 100% sure what this new system entails yet but I have been waiting for it to change before committing time to it and honestly, the only reason was for modules. So if there is a separate system just for them, go for it.
