Israeli soldiers reveal they were ordered to shoot to kill in Gaza – even if targets were civilians

LMAO @ the headline. Disgusting. They know exactly what they're doing with that. It's about as stupid as running with a headline like American police 'purposely murder black people' and then go on to say "according to a black guy in Baltimore" in the article.

All of the testimonies concerned speak specifically about how in an area that has been cleared of civilians, the rules of enagagement are relaxed; they have permission to shoot at any perceived threat and they shoot to kill.

Or basically you know... HOW EVERY OTHER FUCKING ARMY IN THE WORLD OPERATES IN CLOSE QUARTERS URBAN COMBAT AGAINST AN ENEMY THAT DOES NOT WEAR A UNIFORM AND IN AN AREA WHICH HAS BEEN CLEARED OF CIVILIANS.

Jesus fucking christ.

> It published testimonies of soldiers, one of whom said they were ordered to shoot to kill any person they saw.

And yet from a different article on the same topic:

> One solider, a First Sergeant in the IDF’s engineering unit who was sent to Gaza City, said: “The briefing on rules of engagement was [to open fire at], ‘Anything you think you should [open fire at]… Anyone you spot that you can be positive is not the IDF.’ The only emphasis regarding rules of engagement was to make sure you weren’t firing at IDF forces, but other than that, ‘Any person you see.’ From the very start they told us, ‘Shoot to kill.’ As far as the IDF was concerned, there wasn’t supposed to be any civilian population there.”

I think we can safely say that we're talking about a specific situation here; sweeping through an area that has been cleared of civilians. Watch out for friendly fire and you have permission to shoot to kill if YOU perceive a threat. Basically the rules of engagement were relaxed in this situation.

This is a far cry from simply being told to "shoot to kill any person you see".

This is so pathetic. The way this is being reported is purposely injecting these little tidbits in to peoples minds.
