Just how big of an effect does a desk job have on your fitness?

Thank you to those who actually answered my question - the consensus seems to be that no, the desk job shouldn't have a big effect. I greatly appreciate those who offered advice who have had similar results and known others who have.

I'll tell you what's obnoxious: those who ignored the question altogether and preached calories in-calories out to me and proceed to downvote my post to keep others from seeing it.

I asked a legitimate question, and only a couple people here actually answered the question.

This circle-jerk about how calories work on this subreddit is astounding. I KNOW that less calories means less body fat - that's something I can work on.

All I wanted to know was the effect of the desk job itself, and I got my answer. But some of you guys need to take a step back and quit assuming every body fat related Q = "this guy doesn't know how calories work"

I've BEEN lean most of my life. I've done dieting. I've gained weight and lost weight before. I'm just new to desk jobs, and relatively new to lifting. That's it.

/rant and peace.
