Lesley Stahl asks Nancy Pelosi why she held up the COVID relief package for eight months.

Its really tough for me judge this objectively. I really needed the aid and it was maddening to see so many proposals shot down because they weren't good enough. It's also obvious that around September dems were unwilling to make a deal that would send out checks with Trump's name on them. I believe this cost them greatly in congressional races and almost cost the house.

However, standing on the other side of all that madness, I believe Pelosi made the correct choice. A check really could have won Trump the election. Now that we can all see him for the treasonous rat he is - I can't fathom another 4 years of that. It truly was a win at all costs situation.

Dems gained controll of both houses of Congress and the Presidency. I can't give Pelosi all of the credit for that but she certainly does deserve credit. I said a lot of really nasty things about her but I was wrong.

Dems have the opportunity and ability to go big at a time we all really need help. There are no excuses if they don't come through.
