Lets share stories of being caught by Law Enforcement

This was probably my first encounter with law enforcement since I began to use drugs. It happened while being the most fucked up I've ever been one particular night, about a year and a half ago. I was in full blown mania (I'm bipolar) and I was off my meds and was extremely impulsive and completely out of control. This was when my addiction to opiates really started to take over. That night, I ended up taking 20+ oxycodones, 4 klonopin, flexeril, some antihistamines, and some alcohol. For some reason, I become extremely social when I'm high and because of that I made the horrible decision to drive to my friends house. While driving to his house, all of the drugs suddenly hit me WAY harder than I anticipated. Soon I was slipping in and out of consciousness behind the wheel. As I got more and more fucked up, I finally decided to try and return back home. The next thing I know there's a cop behind me. He asked if I'd been drinking and I just burst out crying and said some bullshit story about how I "accidentally " took too much medication. I'm a girl and I was only 17 at the time, so he let me go with a warning and my mom drove me home. I feel a tremendous amount of guilt and shame for driving under the influence. I am incredibly lucky that I didn't cause any damage to property or hurt/killed anyone. I still think about it and what could have happened. Needless to say it was one of the stupidest decisions I've ever made, I express genuine remorse for my irresponsible actions.
