• He pays attention to expressions and body language and encourages me to talk/vent if I'm acting grumpy. He'll check up on me and make sure I'm enjoying myself if I seem at all off during sex.
• He's kind to strangers. Even servers and retail workers. Even people he disagrees with. (He brought a Salvation Army guy a cup of hot chocolate from the grocery store he was stationed in front of, even though he's not a fan of the organization - he just recognized the bell-ringer as someone who was trying to do good)
• He tries to be understanding of everyone and make everyone laugh, not just me.
• He doesn't consider any of my interests silly or frivolous or beneath him (even make-up or fashion - stuff he has no interest in for himself) and goes out of his way to learn at least enough about my interests to be able to carry on a conversation.
• He's not at all concerned about proving his masculinity to others.
• He'll make note of little things - books I'm interested in, how I like my coffee, etc. - and surprise me later with them when I've forgotten I mentioned it.
• He's kind to animals, and all sorts of animals seem to love him.
• He does his best to help me be successful at whatever I'm pursuing - he'll hold lights for my photography, he'll bring me any equipment I forgot to work (mouse/keyboard/batteries/headphones) if he's not preoccupied with work/something else.
• Can hold a tough conversation about a serious topic while staying kind throughout, and uses just enough humor to diffuse tension without making it seem like he's not taking the conversation seriously.
