Liberal Millionaires Say 'Tax Me!'

Progressives/socialist types implemented a fiat currency to help grow the govt and it socialist implementations.

Funny, doing that lead to a period of fantastic social prosperity until it was derailed by supply-side economic theories that basically threw it all for a loop and handed the power to oligarchs.

Correct. The welfare state robs them.

Incorrect. Up until about 1988, the pace of inflation and the pace of minimum wage increase grew approximately equally.

At that point, Reagan's supply-side economics were basically coming into full swing and since then minimum wage growth has failed to keep pace with inflation.

It is not the welfare state that robs the poor, it is those protecting the (flawed) model of supply-side economics.

What ships jobs overseas is higher taxes and expensive regulations. Not to mention the govt raising min wages. Also, the progressives pushed for a consumer economy. And their fiat paper helps that.

Funny, then, that when there were higher taxes and more regulations (oh, and a comparatively higher minimum wage), there was no problem keeping a thriving economy and American business alive. Because at that time there wasn't a ready labor pool and the infrastructure needed to offshore business, and the costs of bringing foreign-produced goods into the country were higher.

That's false. Someone posted, elsewhere, we already pay more for what is made free, than many other countries do. Ergo, putting everyone on the 'free' system would just increase costs.

You're going to have to link that one, if "someone posted something somewhere" is your evidence.

What's fairly hard to argue against, though, is the data on the buying power of governments currently operating single-payer systems and the impact on the goods and services core to basic health maintenance. And the knock-on effect of cost to consumers.

You cannot compare the bodge-job of Obamacare to a proper single-payer system of socialized medicine. And the united front of Republicans plus some corporatist Democrats in the pocket of the medical and health insurance industries basically guaranteed that any attempt to swing health more towards a matter of benefit for society than of profit for business would be irrevocably sabotaged.

Canada, France, the UK, etc. certainly don't have perfect systems, but they are drastically superior for most people most of the time.
