I think he’s from a friendlier area maybe so he thinks he’s being nice and she’s maybe from a bigger city where being friendly is rude. Like he’s just being considerate that maybe she doesn’t like to drive in windy areas for no reason besides that’s just difficult for anyone. And I think she’s used to people being less thoughtful and views it as him over stepping and assuming she’s a bad driver when it’s just being polite enough to not make you feel worthless if you aren’t the best driver. I came from a super nice small city and I moved to a huge city and had a hard time adjusting because I learned, as odd as it sounds, being nice can be considered rude or fake in some places
