Malala Yousafzai: 'Feminism is another word for equality'

No. Feminism isn't another word for equality. You can't just give something a new meaning.

Equality is equality.

Feminism is geared towards a feminine society.... or... a female oriented society.... Gosh I'm not sure what the word is for a male oriented society... guess there isn't one.

At any rate... as I've grown and matured as man, (so-to-speak... I don't like to label myself as anything) I've noticed an increased push away from a male dominant society throughout my life.

Sure probably many areas have yet to change...

I grew up sort of oblivious to gender inequality... I never really thought of myself "better" than anyone as a human being, and was quite surprises that my mother called me sexist when I was about 14, for debating why I didn't think it a wise idea to re-elect bush as president. It wasn't really a heated argument, as her son I was honestly trying to hear her side of the story since my dad had already explained his entire view on all the candidates to me. But rather than explaining her opinion she took it the wrong way I guess.

Annnyways I took that statement to heart and though I didn't think I was sexist, i swore to myself I would try hard to never be one.

Then I started to rationalize what it meant to have gender equality... the struggle of women wanting all the same privileges as men.

While I have many contrasts and comparisons I could make to highlight that women already have it better than men in many different aspects...(of course men have it better than women in many aspects as well)

What I'm really seeing is not a push for equality by women and feminists alike, but more so a push to become the dominant gender.

(Quote from a girl I work with: Men are assholes, a good man should spend all his money on his girl and act like a gentleman at all times.... then she still complains women aren't equal. It seems counterintuitive to want the same pay and expect them to essentially give you all their money at the same time. But she is not the only girl I've heard stuff like this from)

It seems to me women are increasingly expecting men to bend over backwards (perhaps lashing out for years of having to do so for men)...

And while power probably feels euphoric... I think I'll remind you all that inequality, whether caused by man or woman, inevitably leads to more problems.

They say history is doomed to repeat itself... well feminist society -> female dominant society -> male uprisings.

Truly, rather than women or men being treated better than the other, we should strive for a equal burden, equal benefit society.

Anyways... I pretty much give up on dating and relationships because of all the shit going on in our society. I don't want to be better than you. I don't want to be less than you, I wanted to walk through life with you as an equal... but right now that's nonexistent... it's either or and too far and few inbetween
