I guess I should have mentioned that she is a reservist and instead of doing the weekend basic they had the option to do it all at once over a couple weeks in July. (soldier qualification being a separate course coming up later in the summer/fall) It's apparently nowhere near as long as regular force basic and much less intense. Considering that everyone there has civilian jobs outside of the reserves that some of them have to go back to after basic is finished I would say it's pretty fucking weird that they keep getting told different end dates by different people and don't have a clue when they are actually done.

She keeps telling me how fun it is, and how it's nothing like in the movies or what people told her it would be like, so I dunno what to think. I mean obviously she can't sit around moping about how much she misses me, but when we finally get to see each other after a month says hey, can I tell you something, I didn't miss you "like what the fuck. Why would someone even say that.
