I'm just playing devils advocate here, where does gluttony stop and mental illness begin? This person clearly has it together enough to own a home, get married, keep a job, own a car, purchase an obscene amount of food and maintain a marriage. I'm certainly not saying that wealth or financial status is necessarily connected with mental health - but her ability to maintain all of these things is a feat for anyone, let alone someone who is mentally ill.

Now I know I am playing with fire to some degree even mentioning it, but is is possible that this person has been conditioned by her own gluttony? Someone raised to think that the way they choose to live is okay? Parents and husband who indulge her constantly? Crying like a child at the sight of a brussels sprout?

I don't entirely buy the mental illness angle, simply because I've known people like this and they were simply gluttons who were afraid of deviation from their favorite path in life - which in this womans case is eating cheesy potatoes nonstop and crying when she doesn't get them.

Maybe my sympathy radar is broken, but what watching this video made me feel was closer to disgust than sympathy.
