Meet Eventvods.com, a website to catch up on Worlds 2017 and other LoL esports events completely spoiler-free

inevitable legal action by riot.

While you have a fair point, this is also unlikely. We've been getting along with Riot for a long time now and as much as we appreciate their very open approach to esports and people sharing their content, they also appreciate what we've been doing over the years. A ton of Rioters are also using /r/loleventvods over lolesports.com and have posted about it on social medias many times. Just to give you a few examples, back in 2012 before they even had their esports website, they added links to our subreddit in descriptions under Twitch.tv broadcasts during Worlds 2012. We've received skin codes from them back in 2013 to hand them out to our hard working team that provided live updates throughout the year and they also gave us Worlds 2014 London quarterfinal tickets for the entire team (all four days).

We also have no idea what MLBAM is actually doing with/for Riot. There might be a standalone desktop app, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will kill all other streams and VODs on top of it - that sounds like a recipe for disaster anyway. I personally don't see YouTube VODs being forbidden, although they may forbid anyone else to upload full length VODs. We know for sure they will allow highlights and in worst case scenario, we'll simply link VODs to their desktop app.

What I'm saying is that C&D letter, while not impossible, it's still very unlikely. Chances are they'll reach out to us and just tell us what we can and can't do in upcoming year(s). Either way, we're building a multi-esports platform, we've had no investments and are unlikely to have any in the future, we have no ads there still and are simply trying to create a great spoiler-free place for esports fans from all around the world. We have a ton more work to do, here is a provisional schedule with more than 50 bug fixes/features for the next two months: https://i.imgur.com/hcHoSRI.png. So have some faith in us, we hopefully know what we're doing haha. :)

P.S. I'm sorry for all the downvotes you got, I can assure you that nobody from our team had anything to do with that - it's just how reddit works, if you don't go with whatever is popular at the moment, you'll just end up downvoted even if you make valid points.
