Mental Health Help

I can't offer any help regarding finding a therapist or psychiatrist, but I feel compelled to say something helpful, anyway...

Whenever I feel overwhelmed or just plain down, I try hard to remember that it is temporary. Also if it is really, really bad, I tell myself that means I'm at the very lowest part of the cycle and I'll be heading back up to happier times soon.

Recognize that there is no such thing as happy-every-minute, all the time. There's no way to really appreciate good times unless there are some bad times here and there, for perspective.

You're not going through troubles that no one else on earth ever faced. Lots of people have your problems and they get through them. You'll get through them.

Finally, don't try to resolve everything in a big hurry. Choose something you can make a difference in, even a little difference, and work on that a little. If the thing is 9 on your 1-to-10 scale of awful, then don't try to make it a 1. Just see if you can bump it down to 6 or 7. Baby steps.

I hope you find what you need, OP. Be strong and smile!
