Parsons has a legitimate shot at beating the all time rookie sack record and is most likely an all pro and pro bowler and pushing into DPOY talks. The only rookie to win DPOY was Lawrence Taylor in 1981. That's not "nothing new".
Now let's take Mac Jones and compare him to Dak Prescott's rookie season. Which was in 2016, not very long ago.
Dak Prescott: 23 td / 4 in / 68% comp / 104.9 rating
Mac Jones (so far): 16 TD / 8 int / 70% comp / 97 rating
This isn't even including Justin Herbert (last year!) or a bunch of other rookie QBs who have had strong rookie seasons. So what exactly is historically special about Mac Jones' rookie campaign?
