Mick Gordon singlehandedly paying Youtuber's rent for the last fortnight, what a great guy

I think my main distaste for these commentary channels is that they all dive on the breaking stories as soon as they come out to play the algorithimic game, but have very little access to any additional information or insight about any story because it's only rarely that further journalistic principles are followed.

Outside of the personality you prefer there's very little distinguishing each "pundit." Take this Mick Gordon situation for instance, these YT commentators simply relay what happened or discuss Mick's post but rarely have new perspectives to offer that you wouldn't find in a Reddit comment or an actual article on a gaming news website.

Sometimes these guys stretch their videos and commentary out to 20 minutes, which is be fine if you're listening while preocuppied, but it's not as if they're distilling the news or making it more convenient for you at that length.

You're effectively just listening to a simple opinion piece, basically a friend simulator, the actual content provided is rarely richer for it unless you really like the guy talking to you. Still if someone enjoys that who am I to judge - it's not necessarily better or worse content just because I say so.
