My husband of 2 weeks said that he could see himself cheating on me in the future.

I don’t know… my now wife and I talked about all kinds of topics prior to getting married, including cheating, which came up under the topic of “dealbreakers”.

Sure he could’ve just been lying, to only then lie 2 weeks later after marriage? Why to trap her? Seems kind of unlikely. Id wager, if earlier in the relationship, if asked a question about cheating he would’ve shown his ass then too.

I truly believe many people just don’t get to truly know their future spouses. I see dozens of posts a week on Reddit with married couples that might as well seemingly be strangers. Where they just would’ve had any modicum of deep discussion, it would’ve presented itself prior.

This isn’t me blaming OP, or justifying her husband… but lack of true communication is why marriage fails so much in the USA at least. People get married and wonder, who is this person, because they didn’t get to know each other properly.
