Is New Zealand work culture very negative or is it like this everywhere?

I'm in Canterbury and... this is my new job. I've hopped around a bit through jobs, 6 months here, 6 months there. The last time I was happy I was working for a family, not a company or the government branch. They cared about their business and us.

I think because I don't complain to them directly they don't included me in the banter. Our system is slow. It takes a few seconds when you click to compile a template. Everyone knows this. Yet one women in our office will express her thoughts every time it takes a while. I don't know what she thinks she is achieving. When the big bosses comes in she is dead quiet, so I know she can do it!

People forget paperwork, easily sorted. People double book, easily sorted. They make drama from nothing because the work is repetitive.

I know in a way this whole post is one big whingefest but you're right, it is really taking a toll and I don't know what to do about it. I haven't cried in a long time. I don't have bad days a lot because a bad 5 minutes doesn't mean a bad day. I'm starting to really struggle to not let the negative culture get to me. I'm by no means perfect. I stress at work, but I don't let it affect others because at the end of it all, I can handle it and if I can't I will ask for help.
