I have no idea how to fix this either.

Okay you pulled a wildcard I didn't expect with being from a country with a wholly different economy and labor market.

Some of the same rules may apply. For example in general if you are seeking upward moves in the same field it 's best to get at least one promotion before leaving your job because it shows you were well liked. If this is just infeasible then disregard but many organizations make small promotions easy.

You have identified your biggest asset as strong English language skills which puts you in either the tourism, call center, or teaching fields.

The problem I see with teaching, call centers, and tourism is that these are all fields with pretty low pay at the bottom and lots of people clamoring for a select few supervisor positions.

I had an unskilled outbound call center job while in university and I played that experience along with my field of study for 50% more money at my next job as IT phone support for a financial institution. I've had a successful career in IT since.

Phone skills are a valuable skill on their own but what can you do to build from their? If your taking billing calls look for an entry level finance position where you're not answering a phone. If your taking tech support calls look for a tech position not on the phones.

While your doing all this don't hesitate to pursue English language teaching certification. There's no need to close that door.

You mentioned moving to other countries. I can't speak with any authority on that but it can't hurt to move to a better economy especially if you will bring your foreign wealth home.

If you don't already have kids wait until you have established your career and lifestyle such that at least 25% savings is on autopilot into an investment account.

Don't forget that a million dollars is just a number. What your aiming for is saving 20 times annual expenses. This may be incredibly easy for you to save if you put your working time in someplace with a high cost of living and return to Honduras with your savings.

Good luck! I hope that wasn't a shitty ill informed response.
