Actually, no, there aren't enough children. For example, after the baby boomer generation, the birth rate has gone down dramatically, leaving much less people. When the boomers retire, the much smaller population will be left to pay for all their social welfare etc. which could lead to a financial crisis.
There is no greater loving bond that taking care of your own child, not someone else's.
