It relatively is.
Between the rise of agriculture and the industrial revolution, an average worker would spend entire days working strenuosly on the fields. Even those few that were specialzed didnt have it very good either though, as very often their work would be either more dangerous (making roads/ building houses), infuriatingly smelly (leatherworkers) or not very attractive for one reason or another.
With industrial revolution, many workers had 12 hour workdays, doing repetetive tasks.
Compared to all this, working for only 8 to 10 hours a day in an aircodnitioned work environement is a god send.
(I mean the hunter - gatherer times were probably objectively better and people were probably happier but its not like we can return to that now, can we?)
