I'm late but, I live in a smallish upper middle class town in the Northeast United States, we have like no crime in our town. The cops get paid a lot to do very little, so they're mostly doing traffic stops. Murder, gun violence, etc are almost non-existent. I remember driving to work one day and cop cars were pulling up to this house I always drive by and roping it off with yellow tape. Two hours later I checked the news, an entire Chinese family had been bludgeoned to death. Apparently they were involved with gambling and the Chinese mafia. The guy flew in to JFK, rented a car and drove hours to their house, killed the parents and two kids with a hammer, drove back down to JFK and went back to China. The entire Asian American community refused to talk to the police and obviously China never did anything to help catch up with the guy. I drive by the house every day, it was even resold. It always weirds me out and I wonder how anyone could live in a house where someone's skulls were caved in.
